Sexuality. Body Literacy. Reproductive Justice. Survivor-Centered Always.

Bread & Butter is Sweet Cheeks Doulas’ signature body literacy and sexual/reproductive health education program for survivors, youth, adults, caregivers, and community members. We teach the things everyone should have learned—without shame, fear, or medicalized trauma.

This is sex ed for people who never got a real chance to learn what their bodies mean, what they deserve, and what they are allowed to ask for. Bread & Butter is your space to come home to your body.

REQUEST SUPPORT
  • Bread & Butter is a trauma-informed, consent-based, culturally grounded reproductive education program for people of all ages.

We use survivor-centered teaching methods to support:

    • body literacy

    • consent & boundaries

    • sexuality & pleasure

    • anatomy beyond shame

    • pregnancy & fertility

    • contraception options

    • reproductive rights & justice

    • trauma responses

    • nervous system education

    • gender-expansive care

    • medical advocacy

    • healing after harm

We teach with care, clarity, and community, not fear or humiliation.

  • Because your body literacy is foundational — the bread and butter of care, autonomy, and healing. Because survivors deserve education that is:

    • nourishing

    • dignified

    • practical

    • accessible

    • rooted in truth, not taboo

This is education that feeds your spirit and supports your liberation.

  • Bread & Butter is for:

    • survivors healing from trauma

    • teens and young adults learning about their bodies

    • queer and trans youth and adults

    • parents wanting healthier conversations at home

    • caregivers, teachers, doulas, and community workers

    • anyone seeking shame-free, inclusive reproductive knowledge

You do not need prior knowledge.

You do not need to be “comfortable” with the topics.

You simply deserve a place where your questions are honored.

  • Most sex ed:

    • is shame-based

    • centers white, thin, cisgender bodies

    • erases survivors

    • teaches fear, not autonomy

    • ignores culture and power

    • prioritizes anatomy over lived experience

Bread & Butter does the opposite.

    • Survivor-Centered: We teach in ways that honor trauma responses, nervous system needs, and emotional pacing.

    • Somatic & Nervous-System Based: We help people understand why their bodies respond the way they do, not “what’s wrong with them.”

    • Culturally Grounded: Our materials uplift Black, Brown, Indigenous, fat, disabled, queer, and trans bodies.

    • Gender-Inclusive: We do not assume gender, anatomy, identity, or family structure.

    • Anti-Carceral + Anti-Oppressive: We challenge medical racism, reproductive violence, and historical bodily control.

    • Non-Graphic Visuals: All anatomy diagrams are symbolic, gentle, and survivor-safe.

    • Consent-Driven: Nothing is required. Participation is always optional.

  • By the end of Bread & Butter, you will:

    • understand your body without shame

    • know your rights in medical spaces

    • recognize trauma responses with compassion

    • have tools for grounding and advocacy

    • feel more connected to your body’s wisdom

    • have language you can use with partners, providers, and loved ones

    • feel empowered in your autonomy

This is education that liberates—not restricts.

  • Bread & Butter uses a sliding scale, with:

    • scholarships

    • sponsored seats

    • community-funded spots

    • free to low-cost offerings

We refuse to gatekeep body literacy.
